In-Kind Giving

Many of our refugee clients do not qualify for food, housing and other assistance programs. Some are homeless. Every month Refugees Northwest provides our neediest clients with emergency food bags, hygiene products, bus tickets or gift cards for groceries and clothing. However, we can only meet these continual needs with your support! We invite schools, churches, businesses and individuals to partner with us by hosting a Do It Yourself (DIY) Drive for Refugees. Please click the headings below to find out more about each type of drive.

EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY
Many of our clients don’t qualify for food subsidy programs. We keep emergency food bags on hand to supply a week’s worth of staples to those who would otherwise go hungry.

HYGIENE PRODUCTS DRIVE
Toothpaste, shampoo, and soap seem like small purchases, but to a refugee living in poverty they are often out of reach.

GIFT CARD DRIVE
Most refugees arrive in the U.S. with little more than the clothing on their backs. Gift cards allow a refugee to purchase their own groceries and clothing, an important step towards independence, confidence and navigating daily life in their new home country.

TRANSPORTATION DRIVE
Newly arrived refugees are almost entirely dependent on bus transportation to get to work and school. Orca cards, gas cards and money donated to purchase discounted bus tickets will help refugees get where they need to go to rebuild their lives.
